Yes, it can be used as an antidepressant, but it is apparently metabolized to amphetamine and methamphetamine--must be why some users are so enthusiastic about it. I tend to look askance at amphetamine-type drugs myself; although, I probably am going to be switching from Nardil to Parnate, the latter of which does have a stimulant-type character, with a structure very close to that of amphetamine itself.
