In reply to prozac anyone??????, posted by woolav on July 21, 2004, at 12:07:01
I took Prozac for over 7 years. It is the very first AD I took. At that time over 10 years ago, it saved my life. Because of chronic low back pain, I became very depressed. However, within 3 weeks of taking Prozac, my unipolar depression (no mania), started to lift and in 6 weeks, my depression was all but gone. I was able to return to work on a part time basis. Currently, I am taking Lexapro which is a combination of Prozac and Celexa. Supposedly, a lot of the bad side effects, ie., decreased libido, weight gain, etc., have been minimized. So far in my 6 weeks of taking Lexapro, my libido is normal and I am not gaining weight. I do notice that I have less of an appetite. However, I am still having some insomnia and fatigue, but they both seem to be decreasing. I was taking it in the morning initially, but now that I am taking it around 3PM, I don't seem to have the intense insomnia that I had when taking it first thing in the morning. Good luck.

> I just got a script for prozac today. Never took it before. I have been on celexa, serzone, effexor, paxil and zoloft in the past years. But they all stop working. I am also taking lamictal and xanax. Hopefully, the three together will work. Any advise about prozac would help. I dont know what to expect.
