Hi! I had the fatigue and balloony-head feeling you described for the first few days of taking 10 mg of Lexapro in the morning. It did pass though. Now the only real side effect I have after about 5 weeks is the fatigue which I can deal with, even at work. I would say if the side effects don't pass, discuss them with your doctor. Lexapro has really helped me so far.
Good Luck!
> Hi. I am new to this board and I have been taking Lexapro for about three weeks, for a major depression (although it seems clear now, in retrospect, I have suffered mild depression for most of my life). This is my first anti-depressant, so I have no idea what to expect. The first two weeks on Lexapro brought an odd parade of side effects, most of which only lasted a day or two. But for the last six days I have been feeling incredibly drowsy, spacey, balloon-headish for about eight hours after I take the pill (actually half pill--5 mg). Then things clear up and I feel pretty good (more clear and centered) until I go to bed. My question: is this a side effect that also might pass? Or at 3 weeks am I into the more permanent effects of the drug? (Dr. said it takes two weeks to feel the effects.) I'm having a hard time focusing during those eight hours, which isn't good for my kids, my work, or frankly my feelings about myself! Thanks.
