I agree, definitely have the thyroid and blood sugar levels checked. If they're normal and the weight gain is still a problem, I'd tell my doctor I want new meds. People may call me shallow for that, but body image can be a big part of self esteem, and lower self esteem is the last thing a depressed person needs. Do try to stay healthy while you're working out the meds problem though. Meaning don't starve yourself or overdue the exercise...you don't want to fall into some type of eating disorder, trust me.
(Good gracious, sometimes I wonder if there's a psych disorder I HAVEN'T had yet!)
In my experience though, most doctors are fairly sympathetic to the weight gain concerns. I had one say to me when I asked about Remeron "Oh, I would LOVE to put you on that because I think it would work great for you, but you'd look up the weight gain data and refuse to take it." She was right too.
But anyway, the thyroid and blood sugar levels should definitely be checked out. I sympathize with the frustrating weight gain issue and I wish you the best of luck in getting things worked out.
