Hi Shelly
I have RLS too. I was on Prozac when it suddenly started.
Doesn't it drive you nuts???????
People don't seem to understand how awful it is when you can't stop moving. I used to love to read in bed...not anymore.
Mine started with the left leg....the right leg was fine. But it did progress with time and now it affects both legs....24/7.
I have other movement problems too, but can tell you what a couple of Neurologists recommended for just the RLS. They said some might work, some won't, but it is worth a try.
Apply heat at night to the leg
Massage leg at night
Take extra Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium
Take extra B Complex Vitamins
Take extra Vit E
Take extra Folic Acid
Take extra Iron
Use Electrical Nerve Stimulation
Doctor prescribed:
Sedatives
Pain medication
Neurontin
Parkinson's meds
I am still going through the list and giving everything a try. So far, I like the massage and the Electrical Nerve Stimulation... Be sure to try only one vitamin at a time to see exactly what, if any, helps....
I hope one of these relieves the RLS and you get a good night sleep again
Take care
