paxil/ lexapro withdrawal...

Posted by shadowmon on June 2, 2004, at 2:44:22

I just tried for the 4th time to get off of paxil. With the dr's support I tried to whittle down and got all the way to 5 mgs then when I hit 0, all heck broke loose. I couldn't eat, sleep, take care of myself, much less function at all I had panic attacks that came when I slept I just couldnt deal with it. I ended up having the dr put me on (yet) another ssri, Lexapro.
Anyohw, my question is this. Do (or can) Dr's put their patients in the hospital to gome off these drugs? I don't think that I am able to come off it unless I am under more than outpatient care. Or are people like me just stuck taking these meds forever?

thanks in advance
