I consider myself healthy and well balanced. 6 1/2 years ago after suffering from an inner ear infection, I developed severe Tinnitus (high picthed sound in one ear). Initially I was prescribed Klonopin 3 times a day, .75mg at night, .25 mg in the morning & .25 mg in the afternoon. 2 1/2 years ago, over a 6 month period, I managed to wean myself off the daily dosages. I tried several times to wean myself off the nightly dose. Experienced severe Insomnia. Working full time & 2 kids to take care of, the insomnia was not an option.
Last year I tried to go cold turkey, after 4 nights of severe insomnia & terrible withdrawal symptoms I gave in and resumed my nightly dose of .75mg. Last week, after meeting with my GP, I tried again to go cold turkey. This time I pushed myself throught 6 nights without taking Klonopin. Very bad experience. I've been back on the nighttime dose of .75mg for two days now. I am still experiencing mild withdrawal symptoms. One that I never experienced before & am concerned about is a mild skin sensation that happens randomly over my body. More focused on the face. If I rub the spot where it's occuring, the sensation disappears. Does anybody no what this is? Is it temporary? I live in Pittsburgh, PA & have no luck of finding a doctor that recognizes/deals with people with Benzo addictions. Any advice for be much appreciated. Thanks
