Loss of sexual desire and the ability to have an orgasm is a well known SE of SSRIs now, but when I started Prozac over 10 years ago, it wsn't common knowledge. I had no idea why my fantastic sexlife just fizzled after I started taking it. I had no idea the two were related.
This has had a major impact on my marriage, including some screaming on my husband's part.
My personal opinion is that you should try another AD. Wellbutrin or Trazodone are known for having much less negative impact on your sex life. You can read more about my experience with trazodone in the link above, entitled "Re: How sedating is Trazadone afatchic 5/7/04"
Another avenue to try is looking at your sex hormones. A report published several years ago, suggested a link between ADs and testosterone deficiency. If you are deficient in testosterone, it will make you depressed and kill your sex drive. If you find it is low, you can get bio-identical hormone replacement to get you back to normal levels. Here's a link to the report if anyone is interested: http://www.priory.com/psych/sexdys.htm> I am not on alot of Rx's but suffer from server depression and angoraphobia which effect everyday NORMAL life for me. I am on my Second marrage but My husband told me our marriage is in trouble because my libido is LONG GONE- they made this little blue pill for men-now what about women?
