I think Prozac is overall the most best SSRI available. It seems to have fewer of the SSRI side-effects and is more broadly effective (based on personal experience, rumors, and discussions with users) than the "imitations".
Naturally, doctors prescribe the newer drugs, not because they are better, but because the drug reps TOLD them the new drugs were better while giving them tons of free stuff!
I would get the generic daily fluoxetine. Cheap and time-tested.
