I'm taking Marplan. I take a handful of other meds, too. Nothing worked very well until I started taking a thyroid hormone. I can't say things are working well, exactly, but I'm better than I was. I'm treatment resistant--I've been through about a dozen meds.

I chose Marplan because the side effects seemed like they fell between Nardil and Parnate (e.g. Nardil can be sedating, Parnate can be stimulating).

It give me gas (a social problem, but not too bad) and I had to cut back from 50 mg. to 40 because it made me dizzy. (My blood pressure tends to be low even when I'm not medicated.)

I get sexual side effects from *everything* but it's better than with SSRIs.

No weight gain.
