You are much better off taking 30mg in one hit rather than splitting it through the night. Remeron has two actions which cause sleep, first is it's anti-histamine activity that gives you the initial sedation feeling, after a month this feeling subsides. At low doses of 15mg that's all it does. At 30mg it's second action kicks in, 5-HT2A blockade, this will keep you in a deeper sleep longer & is said to actually improve sleep patterns when tested in sleep studies. I usually suggest people start at 15mg because it can be incredibly sedating if you aren't use to it. Remerons third action which happens at high doses is 'Alpha-2 NE antagonism' which is said to be stimulating, but can be rather irratting.
