In reply to Pdoc took me off Klonopine cold turkey. Worried, posted by hundredhugs on April 30, 2004, at 21:16:00
> I was taking 2mg of klonopine at night for sleep and have for a good 2 years. I made the comment that i skipped the klonopine 3 nights ago because a new med was making me so fatigued. I thought by skipping one med that makes me sleepy (klonopine) I might be able to function the following day. Well, It helped. I told my pdoc and she said if it worked let's do it. Before when I was going to off klonopine (which we didn't do) she made up a schedule to taper off it. She didn't do it this time and I didn't think anything of it until now. I feel very disconnected and foggy. What symptoms are related to klonopine withdrawl?

> Hundredhugschemist here...2 mg hs is not insignificant. nor is it appropriate therapy for insomnia. you need a gradual taper, as with any bezo or derivitave...for insomnia, my prefereence is zolpidem (ambien in the US). you can taper of klonopin over a 3-4 week period while titrating ambien.....hope this helps, and let me know, all the best, chemist
