Hi:
As you suspected 'hypomanic' by taking 'Zoloft,' I totally agreed with. Because, SSRIs are prone to 'produce'/bring up to 'hypomanic episodes.' such as spending spree and very 'giddy' episodes. Other med., Wellbutrin is fairly a good AD med. that does not cause 'hypomania,' but some of folks complainging about 'insomnia' and other annoying, ... not serious forms of SEs.
Besides, Zoloft and Wellbutrin, I have no idea of what other med. your Mom taking, ... however in the case of Bipolar, she CERTAINLY needs mood stabilizer, such as Lithium, Depakote, Tegretol and more to list. In my suspicion/guessing, without any M.S. effect, ... only two AD causing her 'hypomania.' If you could convince your mother to go to the pdoc., it might be a best way to control her current condition, 'hypomania,' because after this episode, the next comes, as you might already know, ... is 'deep depression.'
