HELP! Starting remeron tomorrow, what dosage?

OK, I've read about the paradoxical thing (less=more sedation). My old pdoc had mentioned this but my new pdoc doesn't seem to agree with this.
He was going to start me at 7.5mg but I asked to start at at least 15mg to keep from lapsing into a coma (LOL)!! But I'm wondering if maybe I should start even higher than 15mg? On other boards I've noticed people either start at 15mg or 30mg and I even found some who started right off at 45mg.
Any opinions or experiences?
Have cleared the whole weekend for the BIG SLEEP :(
