I suspect that people who are complaining about Effexor withdrawl should have taken a weaker medicine to start with. You don't start taking Morphine IV because you have mild headaches. Zoloft would be my first choice, or maybe some dirty old dirt cheap Nortriptyline. It depends on your symptoms. You aren't likely to get Nardil, it tends to be third choice after Effexor has failed.

Good point Panda. You're right. And I'm not at the end of my rope. It's just that I haven't laughed since I can remember. I don't feel worthless or hopeless, I just always feel blah, not happy or sad just kinda numb. I've dealt with a LOT of stress over my life, as everyone has, and recently lost my dad to cancer, held his dying hand etc. I've always been in the middle of very stressful family relations and have spent many years as a consumer of drugs and alcohol. Hard drugs as a teen and just pot and booze over the last 10 years. I've recently quit everything on my own, just kinda sick of it all, but am honestly scared that I will never truly be really happy as in laughing, giggly etc. I don't think that AD's are necessarily the answer, but if there was some hope for a good laugh somewhere I'd surely seek it out. I just remember taking Nardil once when I was 16 for a couple of months and it helped. Of course almost overdosing on cocaine wasn't too smart.
