Panda:
You've probably seen my posts, but I'm augmenting 150mg of Effexor XR in the morning with 100mg of Seroquel at night for sleep and mood stabilization.
I have to mention at the get-go that Seroquel DOES NOT put me *OUT* at night. what it does is enable me to sleep through the night without as many interuptions as before. I can also sleep longer than 5am if I desire to.
I have not noticed any detremental sedation in the morning, at least after a hot shower and a cup or two of coffee. My moods ARE better; more even and I feel more in control, less apt to snap back at someone.
I figure that since I'm some flavor of BP, plus chronically depressed, this is a good combo for me.
Last week we added generic Adderall and that seems to be going well, 5mg twice a day and now up to 10mg twice a day, 8am and 12pm. Nothing after that because of the possibility of affecting my sleep, which has NEVER been that great. It's no wonder I've been depressed, only getting 5-6 hours each night when I need 7-8...
I've always been a very light sleeper, taking a long time to go to sleep and waking frequently during the night. I now sleep better and FEEL better as a result. It's also psychologically good for me that the Seroquel serves another purpose other than being primarily for sleep. That way I feel better about using it all the time.
I also noticed that Seroquel didn't work for me as a sleep aid at the lower doses; only at 75-100mg.
Both Lamictal and Seroquel are atypical antipsychotics right? Perhaps they are each compounding the effects of the other and that's why you're feeling 'drugged'.

> just wondering...i am taking 25mg of seroquel and 100 of lamictal...but the seroquel of course is making me sleep at night which is what they wanted to happen..it is being used for my mood and to help me sleep.....i was getting a good nights sleep and waking up feeling refreshed in the mornings but now..im taking the seroquel at nine thirty and going to bed by ten..and im waking up feeling dog tired..I dont if this means anything but i find it weird being that it is that I was feeling great..and now im really tired. Nine hours of sleep should be enough..I usually get 8-9 hours of sleep a night when I sleep well..and so I dont know why i am feeling this way..Does anyone feel this way on seroquel? 25 mgs is not a lot of seroquel but I dont see why i would be so tired the next day.....just confused...
