I understand worry, that's why I take Prozac. Ironically, the people who need Prozac are the people most likely to obssess about possible side-effects. That is why this whole anti-SSRI movement really bugs me. It seems so insensitive; people that haven't been helped by Prozac telling us that people who have will inevitably become apathetic, fat robots. There are side effects, as with any medication. I hate that it makes me tired. But being tired just takes a few hours out of my day, being out of control miserable takes years out of my life. That being said, you can get on the Prozac and add drugs that might help with side effects. Perhaps you just need to be on a little less. You can also just decided not to drink while you take it. And you might want to try Cognitive Behavioral therapy. While you were doing that you could lower your dose of Prozac and face your anxiety in more managable chunks. Congratulations on your baby! Maybe if you got on Prozac just for the first year you can better enjoy being a Dad. Deal with the demons later. You can consider it a hold button.
