I doubt that somnolence would appear after an extended trial as is observed with Mirapex. I'm sure that some dopamine receptors will upregulate in response to blockade.

I had the choice of which of the two medications to try. My doctor consulted with someone in NY who supposedly had quite a bit of experience with these drugs. He recommended sulpiride at a dosage of 50mg. That would equate to 25mg of amisulpride. I received some benefit from it during the first week, then it just sort of faded on me. It seems to me that amisulpride 50mg is the most commonly used dosage when treating depression or dysthymia.
