The problem with having to be treated for Chronic Pain is that the Dr. often has to decide if the patient is also having depression, quite common with CP,or if the pain is a by-product of existing Depression.Then,lo-and-behold,the poor doc then finds that the Depression is a by-product of ADD!If the ADD had been diagnosed and treated earlier, then, perhaps the patient would not have fallen off the roof from poor concentration levels from the ADD,which resulted in injuries that eventually got the patient referred to a Chronic Pain Mgmnt.Dr.Did all that come out OK?Oh,well. That,s kinda what I experienced,I won,t go into more details. When a person has enough pain that it requires Opiate therapy to help control, they frequently exhibit signs of "Drug-Seeking"behavior,that is to say a person who needs Opiates will experience the same effects of WD as a person that abuses Opiates, but in their own way, they, too,"need" them to ward off the pain of WD.The two are so similar that it takes a Pain Medicine Specialist to usually discern between the two. Those of us that rely on Opiates to relieve pain are often labeled"Drug Seekers"by the Pharmacists and other medical personell that don,t know the difference. It ain,t easy.Take care,Festus
