I wouldn't necessarily get to pessimistic too soon. I would recomend trying different antidepressants.

Another thing to consider is that often a primary depression responds quickly to a AD.

The first time I took Celexa, the depression was better within 3 weeks. The second time I took it it took months to get the same effect.

AD's upregulate neurogenesis, sometimes it takes continual and persistant exposure to them so that the growth factors can make the connections which make the depression better.

It is not the chemicals that solve the problems it is the chemicals that boost the growth factors that help you to see the solutions to your problems.
