> I have taken trazodone for years - 3 years as an antidepressant until the dose got so high I couldn't function in the morning. For the past 7 years or so, I have taken 50-100mg every night. I sleep very well, sometimes dream very vividly, and only rarely wake up too early.

I've been using trazodone very successfully for 9 years. It was originally prescribed for depression and 2 weeks of insomnia which landed me in the hospital. I just recently had my regular physician advise me to stop taking it, he thinks I'm addicted because I need it to sleep. I don't need it any more now than I did 9 years ago when I didn't sleep for 2 weeks. As far as my psychiatric drugs go...I'll follow the advise of my psychiatrist. I'm taking my trazodone!
