If you are a newbie like I am then you may not have come across a small but useful Yahoo group.

I don't know if you are right about norepinephrine upsetting you. It was good for me when I took only the selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor Reboxetine.

Maybe you are sensitive to norepinephrine?

I am never too surprised when mood meds produce the opposite effect to that which most people get (eg. Prozac definitey helps a minority with sex but most peole find it inhibits their sexual response). However it is unusual. And I would *guess* that your irritability on Nardil could be in such a category ... quite possible but somewhat unlikely.

Having said that a trial for 5 weeks is quite a good one and maybe it is not for you.

One other possibility (and here I am just guessing) is that you are a slow metabolizer and that your body does not break down som eof the active metobolites of Nardil as quicly as the rest of the general population. In that case perhaps a lower dose is the right dose for you? Try a reduced dose maybe and see if it works for your mood without the irritability side effect?

One of the others here will be better able to advise you what med to try next if you do give up on Nardil.
