1200 mg/day of Neurontin (gabapentin) might be worth a trial. But I'd want to know more about the patient’s symptoms before suggesting a particular medication. For example, was your friend self-medicating with alcohol? Does your friend struggle with depression periodically? Does your friend ever get in an energetic up-beat mood with lots of great ideas in his/her brain?
