You either sleep or don't sleep, b/c of stimulants. They do affect your sleeping waves, yes, but not to a point that would result in excessive daytime sleepiness.

I would see a sleep disorders clinic. They can order a PSG (sleep study) for you-- you could have apnea, or something else. In my case, I have an unexplainable condition-- everything has been ruled out, so it's called "Idiopathic Hypersomnolence." I'm on Xyrem, works wonders.
