It sounds like you were successful your first year eventhough you were on Lexapro for the second half of it.

Are you taking Lexapro in the morning? If so, take it before bed. That way, there will be less in your system during the day and evening.

You might feel more "dumb" while on it but too much anxiety or depression are not good for grades either. It's possible that you feel dumb, but your brain really is processing the information.

On the other hand, are you sure that your depression was only because you were away from your girl friend? If that was the ONLY reason, maybe you don't need to take an antidepressant.
