I did a search and there is a website http://www.provigil.com that you can find out all about it.
However, the summary when I got the search results said that Provigil is a "wake-promoting agent indicated to improve wakefulness in patients with excessive daytime sleepiness associated with narcolepsy."

I have heard that it is a *very good* med in terms of being effective with little to no side effects. However, I've heard it's expensive (but perhaps you have insurance coverage) and I don't have any direct experience with it.
I'm sure others will answer you here but I would suggest going to the provigil.com website!
