There is a lot said in that post.

Firstly they do take a while to work.
You would think about changing the
medication if the side effects are increasing
or unbearable, or if the depression
is increasing or unbearable.

If not give it a while. Effexor can lead
to a higer rate of sustained remission
compared to SSRI's but it can take a little
longer to work.

People tend to complain about the side effects
because it is a really effective drug. Often
people feel back to normal, and are asking themselves.. "why was it again that I am
tolerating these side effects???"

Anyhow, keep a journal and hang in there.
By the end of two-three weeks you should have
a clearer understanding of what paths to take.

And beleive me, there are *plenty* of non-antidepressant users, who are very satisfied
with there life and don't want to change anything.

As you get better you will be more concerned about how to keep well, than how to feel better.

The idea that everybody out there is feeling crappy, is simply not true. People's problems are highlighted in the news, songs, and television, but these are often not acurate representations of the average mood.
