Hi SoS--
Noa and several other posters here have posted about "fish oil burps". And, sodas are a well known source of stomach distress. The carbonic, citric and phosphoric acids they contain all lower stomach pH. (Phosphoric acid in sodas is particularly harmful; it acts as a binder to calcium, which reduces the absorption of that mineral from the intestines and leaches it out of tooth enamel, destroying that protective coating over time.) And, the caffeine and high fructose corn syrup in some sodas cause stomach problems for many.
Perhaps, your fish oil and sodas are producing an unwelcome synergy? Eliminating soda intake for a couple of weeks and then resuming your normal consumption would test that hypothesis.
A lot of attention has been focused on side effects of prescription Rxs, and deservedly so. But, many commonly available, unregulated substances we ingest without thinking can do much more damage. For example, far more livers have been done in by Tylenol than by Serzone.
Good luck in pinpointing the offender/s.---medlib
