I'm sorry I don't have anything enlightening to say, but when I took Welbutrin the pills never had a bad smell. I'm wondering if somehow you got a bad batch??? I know these meds can mess with your stomach, SSRI's have certainly messed with mine. But Welbutrin was not to be the culprit in my case. Good luck SoS, sorry I couldn't be more help.
