Organic selenium is best, IMHO. In this form, selenium is substituted for the sulfur atom in e.g. methionine, and the result is called seleno-methionine.

One of the commonly available supplemental sources is from yeast, not surprisingly called selenium yeast. It should say on the label. I would stay away from the mineral acid forms, called selenate and selenite.

Brazil nuts are a superb souce of selenium.
