Just curious if any SP sufferers have had any luck with Buspar, either alone or with augmentation. I'm aware of Buspar's "slower," non-benzo properties and its indication for GAD, but I'm wondering if it might at least help to decrease some of the day to day anticipatory anxiety some of us feel. As a med student on my Psychiatry rotation, I was told on a few occasions by professors that Buspar basically equates to water, so I'm not quite sure what to think about this med. Any ideas?
And what about side effects? I would think that as a serotonin agonist that one might expect some sexual dysfunction or weight gain, but neither seem to be reported much.
And finally, does Buspar really have a "feel" to it? Or is it more of a subtle, calming effect?
Thanks for any info on this!
