I can't really help with the discontinuation issue (since I'm still on Klonopin, and probably will be indefinitely) but I have noticed from other posts here that some people seem to be able to get down to a certain dose, then going below this causes major distress.

Obviously, this is something to discuss with your doctor, but my instinct would be to go very slow -- adjust to the lower dose for a while, then gradually start dropping again until you reach another discomfort zone, etc. Klonopin is a safe, cheap, effective drug, so if it takes a while to get off it, what's the harm (as long as you can continue to get prescriptions)?

Again, I haven't tried quitting, so this is just conjecture, but it seems consistent with the experiences of others.
