Klonopin Withdrawal

Posted by cubbybear on April 22, 2003, at 2:06:48

I've been tapering off Klonopin (orig. close to 4 mg./day), without difficulty at first. At a prescribed decrease of .25 mg. every 7 days, I got down to 2.5 mg/day without difficulty, then started feeling rotten. (Am also taking Parnate for depression). OnSaturday, I woke up feeling that I really wanted to sleep a lot, then it quickly turned into anxiety. Saturday, Sunday, Monday nights were hell in terms of not sleeping well.
At first I was afraid the Parnate had quit, then I thought my current job situation was causing "normal" anxiety, then I realized that I had probably hit a point of withdrawal symptoms from the Klonopin (waking up after only about 2-3 hrs of sleep, unable to get back to sleep, some anxiety, loss of appetite. I scheduled an appointment with my pdoc for tomorrow to get his input. Can anyone identify with these symptoms of Klonopin withdrawal?
