bcl-2 expression - HELP

I heard that bcl-2 is a 'good' neuroprotective
protein, and that lithium raises it.


does high 'expression' of the bcl-2 gene
mean high levels of this neuroprotective
protein. I'm just trying to interpret the
meaning of a gingko biloba study.
