Oh, Dave. I feel your pain. To one doctor, what is major problem requiring intensive therapy (or immediate hospitalization), to another is just a creative strategy for dealing with a difficult reality (and, ultimately, healthy adjustment.) If your doctor doesn't "resonate" with you, I'm so sorry. Do you have the option to find another who will? It took me over ten years to find one who a) believed I had a medical problem and b) knew how to approach it. Many along the way had one or the other, but not both.
I empathize and wish you the best in your pain and search. Prayers in your behalf.
