Hi,
Actually it is quite calming... there have been studies using high doses of 15,000+ milligrams to control symptoms of trichotillomania (a sort of offshoot of OCD, which is an anxiety disorder).
Actually, it's been so long since I've done any research on it that I don't remember all the studies-- I'll dig as many of them as I can up for you and post them here tomorrow.
I haven't found much of a difference between brands of inositol, though I will say the powder is much more effective than the tablets/capsules. I usually use Puritan's Pride brand, though... their products have always seemed (to me) to be high-quality. And it's on sale right now, $8.25 for 2 oz. A 1/4 tsp. is a full 1,000mg dose-- this is the best deal I've seen on this stuff anywhere. Just go to http://www.puritanspride.com
Actually, I just started taking tyrosine, 50mg per day, when I started taking Enada last week. Too soon to say if it's helping at all, but I'll let you know.
