>Here is what I have experienced with the SSRI's. Keep in mind I was trying them while on Lamictal AND Remeron. Prozac - severe agitation, Paxil - weight gain (12 pounds in 2 weeks), Luvox - again, agitation, Celexa - screws with menstrual cycle, Lexapro - agitation, Wellbutrin - don't ask! HORRIBLE!, Effexor - agitation. Do you think I would have different reactions now that I am not taking the Remeron? Perhaps try one of them again? Some of these I have also tried years ago and had bad luck with them (Prozac, Effexor, Buspar, Wellbutrin). I don't tolerate SSRI's very well do I? LOL! They do seem to work the best for me for anxiety though. I really believe I am going to have to ditch the Zoloft. The only reason to have this kind of nausea and have it be worth it is if I am expecting a child! LOL!
> Forgot to add, in response to your question. Yes, my anxiety is OCD and I have GAD too. Mostly the GAD is what bugs me the most. Also am Bipolar and ADD (suppossed to be taking Ritalin, but I find it helps my mood/attention for a few hours and then I feel horrible when I crash, whole-nother story!)
Hmmm. Interesting, you are another one of those bipolar/GAD/ADD people (including myself). This seems to be a very common thread here. The more I hear about this thing, the more I am beginning to believe it is a separate illness entity of its own! I have similar troubles with SSRI's as well. They work so wonderfully for anxiety (at tiny doses however), but take the wrong one or tick up the dose and BLECCHH! You might have *somewhat* different reactions without the Remeron. Remeron made me very irritable, and I had poor impulse control with it. I could sit still on the stuff, but my *mind* was more restless than it was before. I have had mixed results with stims as well. They help one thing and then make another thing worse. The last thing your pdoc changed was upping your Zoloft dose from 25 to 37.5mg, right? Maybe, you can ask her to simply drop it back to 25mg? Try the simplest thing first. If it wasn't for diarrhea problems (and restless legs AND disrupted sleep), Zoloft would be my SSRI of choice as well, but 12.5mg was the MAX I could possibly stand. I went on that for MONTHS, and certain things abated like headache, but everything else persisted.
