I have been or am currently on (from earliest to most current) Zoloft, Risperdal, Ativan, Zyprexa, Topamax, Effexor, Geodon, Wellbutrin, and Klonopin.
Zoloft - My first antidepressant. Gave me a huge energy boost and stopped my oversleeping. Increased my willpower and reduced my self doubt. It only marginally helped with my social anxiety. I took it for a year in doses ranging from 50mg to 250mg. Higher doses were more effective.
Risperdal - First antipsychotic given during my one psychotic break. It did absolutely zero except give me blurred vision at 5mg a day. I was on it for 6weeks.
Ativan - Taken as an adjunct to Risperdal during my psychotic episode. My parents say it calmed me down when I was in hysterical paranoia. Dosage: 1-2mg.
Zyprexa - Replaced Risperdal and worked miraculously. Paranoid delusions went away and thinking returned to normal. Schizophrenia went into remission. I was on it for 7months during which I gained 25lbs. Was sleeping 12hours a night. Dosage: 20-25mg.
Topamax - Given to me because of the false assumption that I might be bipolar. It made me extremely lethargic, slow, and apathetic. I was on it 1 month at a dose of 50-200mg a day.
Effexor - I chose to replace Zoloft with it. It worked a bit better than Zoloft, especially at high dosages. Was on it 8months from doses of 75mg-375mg. Just went off it a week ago.
Geodon - Replaced Zyprexa. Worked just as well on psychotic symptoms with fewer side-effects. My appetite returned to normal so I was able to lose 25lbs over 3months. My sleeping went back to 8hours a night. I have been on it since late July, or 5months.
Wellbutrin - Added this antidepressant to Effexor because I was extremely depressed mid-August. It worked wonders on my depression and helped somewhat with my social anxiety. I was on it 4months, just going off it a week ago to start Nardil therapy. Dosage: 300mg/day.
Klonopin - Finally a drug that has proven to be truly effective for my social anxiety. I started taking it 2months ago. I take 2mg a day. Side effects are sedation and lowered motivation.
Nardil - Will start taking this MAOI January 3rd, 2003. High hopes for it helping my social anxiety.
