No, you are definitely not the only one out there. I have both conditions, and maybe a few other ones too. I don't think exact diagnoses are that useful. It is better to target symptoms, like hearing voices or feeling excessive anxiety. I take Geodon, Celexa, and Cogentin and am doing pretty well. I have also in the past taken Ativan, Paxil, and Inderal.
Geodon
This made the voices go away. Also, it stopped certain delusional thoughts, mainly paranoid. Additionally it eliminated my inappropriate affect (such looking happy when saying something sad). This medication helped with my overall anxiety as well. This drug caused EPS (extrapyrimidal side effects) so I have to take Cogentin (benztropine).Celexa
This was the second antidepressant I took. It helped mainly with suicidal thoughts and social anxiety. I was severely depressed before it took effect, and now I don't have suicidal ideation.Ativan
I was prescribed this drug for sleep, although I used it for anticipatory anxiety, related to school. It didn't help much with sleep but it worked pretty well for anxiety. My doctor was cautious and only prescribed one month of this drug. I think this drug was overkill for my anxiety, as my AP med greatly decreased my anxiety levels.Paxil
This drug made me euphoric for a couple days, but then my psychosis took hold and I became suicidal. Paxil just didn't work on me.Inderal
This is a beta-blocker, used to treat angina among other things. It didn't do anything except make me depressed. What are your experiences with medication?
