Hi I have been told by several clients that
have sex/lovemaking did help them refocus to
the challenges that they were facing at the time. But the big question is: Would it be the relationship that went along with the sex/lovemaking or just the biological/chemical release of the endorphins that cause'the runners high' that many people seem to enjoy during and directly after the big O?
I worked professionally with a therapist who had problems with the word masturbation..even in his client files. He used the phrase..potentiating his/her self-awareness... now its that a hoot!!For some people self stim/relase is the answer for others its the intimatcy. I have learned to compartmentalize my life; keeping my work and my personal as much separate identities as I can so I can remain as theraputic as possible.
For me and my personal life, I have PTSD and being sexually intimite or even sexual self stim envokes flashbacks that are at best very unnerving and something that I could do well to avoid...Just trying to help...
just another clueless syringchalet
