Pfizer has advised that Nardil 15mg tablets (phenelzine sulfate) are to be discontinued when current stocks are exhausted. This is an international discontinuation due to manufacturing difficulties.
Pfizer is attempting to obtain the product from another source, but are unable to guarantee the supply of Nardil beyond the end of June 2002
Pfizer has set up an 800 number which clinicians can ring for help for ongoing management in patients who are currently presrcibed Nardil 800-675-229
I did find this:
Nardil(r) (phenelzine) - August 2002. Pfizer is no longer supplying Nardil tablets. However, Link Pharmaceuticals in Auckland (ph: 09 358 7146, fax: 09 358 7340) advise that they can supply phenelzine tablets pursuant to Section 29 of the Medicines Act 1981. Please note that the phenelzine product from Link Pharmaceuticals is not yet approved by Medsafe, therefore its bioequivalence to Nardil is unknown. If i find anything else, i'll post it.
