I,ll try to tell you a bit about stims,but keep in mind they are going to affect folks in different ways,depending on what their condition is,what other meds they may be taking,etc.I took Ritalin to help with drowsiness caused by Methadone,which I take for chronic pain.It helped some but only lasts a few hours.Concerta is Ritalin in a time-released form that slowly lets out a small bit of the med over 8-12 hrs.My child takes it for ADHD.I switched to Adderrall a while back because it is a stronger,longer lasting med and also,it helps me with my own ADHD.Stims don,t affect ADHD folks like they do others.They make us focused and alert and help us to feel more organized and in control.I have heard of docs using them for depression and that ,in a lot of cases,work real well.Hope this helps,Festus.
