Hi!
I recently tried to get off Zyprexa. It did not go over too well and I am back on the full 10mg dose at my request. I wonder if I am doing the right thing. He put me down to half and I seemed to be fine, it was quite a rough transition. 3months later I thought I could handle getting off the drug completly. Felt I was doing fine but after a few days I could not eat or sleep. Nights of 3-4 hours, and half a meal a day only liquids would go down. Eventualy I called my doctor and was told to take 2.5mg right away. When I went back to see him, he asked me what dose I wanted to take. I was affraid to say, so he put me on 5mg. When I went back 2 weeks later I said it wasn't enough and was given some 2.5mg to take when I could not sleep or felt extra ankshous. I tried at first but 5 was not enough 2 days I took 7.5 and decided that was not enough. Decided to take the full 10 I was on in the first place and started feeling better. I did call him and ask if it was ok and he said as long as I am ok with it. The time befor the initial reduction I had complained of just about every side effect on the list and had been thinking the drug was not doing anything for me. I wonder if this is why he might have taken me off the higher dose? Whats your input? I take the 10mg and feel better taking it now than I did before and actually am afraid to go down or off it. He is mentioning that I could take geodon but I am afraid and not sure if I should try it or not. Anyways my thinking on the Zyprexa is that I am affraid to come off it as all my grades in school were going down and my thinking was not clear and most importanly I could not eat or sleep, I wonder if that would be the case if I switched to geodon. Anyone tried that or had a simmilar experience?
