Effexor and possible Bi Polar

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend, hope someone can give her a batter answer than I could!!!

Can you help me with a question over response to medication - might it

I'm currently taking 300mg Efexor (Venlafaxine XL) daily in divided dose.
