I mentioned Dex. spansules today, but the *plain* dexedrine didn't help me focus much, although I found it anxiolytic. Adderall works, but the l-isomer is where I get the attentive properties, the d-isomer doesn't work for *that*. However, the l-isomer causes *more* anxiety than Focalin did, so with this complex logic we are going with some form of XR Ritalin.
>>>>>>.Me too! We share side effect profiles! Dexedrine plain made makes me a little calm, keeps me up, but doesn't actually keep me more focused... although I tend to write longer papers, I don't notice the same eagerness-attentiveness that keeps me on track with my classwork Adderall or Ritalin gives me.
Ritalin gives me horrid stomach pains even with food, and makes me anxious. Adderall makes me even more anxious, but also works... only in that rougher, "remember-I'm-an-amphetamine-still" kinda way- blood pressure goes up a bit, heart goes up a bit, but not worthy enough of a stim. AndI'm anxious like crazy on it.
Maybe Concerta, maybe it'll make me less anxious. But I feel more in control of my meds if it's short-acting... I'm not sure if I want to lose that, but the problem is side-effects reduce my compliance. I tend to avoid stims, and end up off-track and not doing work.
