Its called Cymbalta. Google search it :)Lilly Antidepressant, Cymbalta, Gets FDA Approvable Letter
Followup to Prozac expected on market soon
Sept. 16, 2002 -- Eli Lilly and Co., maker of the onetime blockbuster antidepressant Prozac, said it has received an approvable letter from the Food and Drug Administration for its new antidepressant Cymbalta. An approvable letter from the FDA indicates the drug has passed most of the regulator's requirements. The drug company said Monday that it expects to receive final approval when it resolves labeling and outstanding manufacturing issues.
Lilly submitted a new drug application for Cymbalta in November 2001 along with data from five placebo-controlled depression studies and an open label safety study.
More than 3,000 patients have taken Cymbalta in clinical trials.
Lilly says the data suggest that 60 milligrams of Cymbalta, taken once daily, relieve symptoms of depression such as low mood, anxiety and physical symptoms such as aches and pains.
In fact, Lilly says, Cymbalta is superior to Prozac in that it affects two neurotransmitters involved in depression -- serotonin and norepinephrine. Other antidepressants, including Prozac, affect only serotonin, Lilly said. Researchers believe an imbalance of the two transmitters may explain the physical and emotional symptoms that depressed patients often endure, the company said.
