New Here, question about Medications

Posted by LittleMama on October 3, 2002, at 10:01:47

I am a 34yr. old wife, mother, and stepmother. I was diagnosed with "major depressive disorder" one year ago. Since that time I've been on... zoloft, celexa, sarafem, remeron, and wellbutrin. The zoloft and sarafem seemed to work for the first week, and then nothing. The others did nothing for me. My main problems are irritability, concentration, memory, etc.. If I do have a chemical imbalance, why don't the meds work? I've been researching ADD, and I think that may be what I actually have! (but, i'm no dr.) I can't get in to see my dr. until next month. For the past couple of weeks I haven't been taking anything. Yesterday I decided to give the zoloft(100mg) another try. (because my fuse is sooo short, it's affecting my family) I also have xanax.25mg (one does nothing, two put me to sleep), and Klonopin .5mg (which i'm not taking b/c i'm afraid of addiction)on hand, if necessary. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
