Well, depends on the pain.Different stuff works for different pain. Neuralgia? Tegretol is an old standby, although they've retooled it as Trileptal and it's much better. I liked it. I'm not too inpressed with Lamictal in general, too rashy, too fat making, not that impressive. But you may love it!
So there's two, and a pain management type psychiatrist (or neuro?) will have more ideas. Think about this- It's a subspecialty and could save you a lot of time and misery.
