I've taken about 20 things altogether, in the past mostly. I'm not having major depression at the moment. Also anxiety has been a problem in the past but not right now. Right now I'm I'm tapering off of klonopin and also take Ritalin (or Adderall sometimes) for Attention Deficit Disorder. And I take the birth control pill which stabilizes my hormones (which were out of whack with menopause starting). So I'm feeling really good, luckily, right now.

Weight gain can definitely be a problem with Remeron if you aren't taking anything else with it that gets you up and moving.

Bill's idea about taking the Wellbutrin in the morning may really help. You might be able to increase the dose of Wellbutrin as well as time goes by, which would help with energy.

As time goes by if you are sleeping better you may also want to try decreasing either the Seroquel or the trazodone.

The two things that promote weight loss, are the stimulants like Adderall, and Topomax, which is used to smooth out moods. Stimulants would normally only be prescribed if you had problems with attention and concentration (more than that created by depression). There is a quiz at www.mindfixers.com that helped me figure out that it was a problem for me. I have been on some of the mood stabilizer drugs in the past but they didn't make me much less moody. I've never personally tried Topomax and don't know if it would even be an option for you or not.

Since you are on such a big combination of things it might be worth it to get a second opinion from another psychiatrist. Different doctors will have very different ideas about how to approach the same initial symptoms.

For example, if Wellbutrin wakes you up and energizes you, you might do well on something like Remeron plus Wellbutrin. Neither by itself is right but it might be that the bad effects cancel eachother. Or Topomax at night and Zoloft in the morning. It seems like there are a lot of possibilities.

Definitely talk to your current doctor about the weight concern: often unless we really put a foot down we just end up getting their standard menu.

Hope you feel more energetic soon. -- kate
