You might try stimulating non-stimulants as an alternative. Wellbutrin and desipramine can give a person that calm you describe, perfect for anti-ADD. But the added benefit is there are no major peaks and valleys -- all day effect -- with these antidepressants.

I'm actually doing a trial with small doses of WB and desipramine together for my ADD. Seems to be working better than either WB or desipramine alone...

I get the feeling that people often forget about the stimulating non-stimulants when shopping for more activation or ADD. Give em a try.
